Happy Homemaker 2025-04-14

Good morning and Happy Easter if we don't see each other until then

We had grandkids last Monday afternoon (daycare strike Monday and Tuesday) and my son and daughter-in-law came for supper as it was my son's 32nd birthday.  Couldn't babysit more than that as we had classes and appointments.

Last weekend was houschores and the 1st weekend (Saturday) where it was balmy enough to work a little outside... dh finished cutting up the snow so it'll melt today which is supposed to be nice.  He got the gazebo unwrapped (he wraps it up with turpaulin during winter) and the wood structure inside removed (he does that so it doesn't crush under the snow during winter).

Should be a beautiful day today so we'll go outside with grandkids.  In fact as I write they are gone to the park with grandpa (Anne-E had a new bike yesterday).

Last weekend
  • Deep spring-cleaned 2 entry wardrobes .  Put away some winter clothes. 
  • Washed some winter boots
  • Vac'd main floor
  • Washed main bathroom
  • Washed basement bathroom
  • Laundry
  • Put up some screen windows
  • Made a list of meals and items needed for next week
  • Went to dollarstore to get stuff for egg hunt (ddil had said she would do the egg hunt at their house but ... it will be here instead so have to prep for that)

Monday
  • Prep for in-town work tomorrow - DONE
  • 10:30 Tai-chi classes
  • Babysit grandkids 
  • Clean and organize seats in gazebo for next weekend
  • Make meatball stew - DONE
  • Cook and freeze a batch of sausages - DONE
  • Wash dishes - DONE

Decluttering 
  • Rain pants (too small)

Upcoming this week
Dad's oncologist - chemio how it will work... finally this week for real.
Tuesday - in-town work and lunch with cw's, birthday of Nancy who will be 60
Grandkids Monday to Wednesday and sleepover on Monday night
Thursday - Anne E's 4th birthday
Friday - DD's 34th birthday
Next weekend.. invited my family for Easter.  DD is coming with family.  Easter egg hunt will be here.   DDIL invited her sister and family too.

    It's always hard to decide when to put away the winter clothes and heavy blankets! It's getting close. I took a couple extra days off over the long weekend coming up, so I will get a start on it then.

    I started Tai Chi! Just beginner videos from YouTube - but I'm liking it!

    Happy Easter! Hope the egg hunt goes well! You will have to take pictures! I am also working on some spring cleaning this week & just scheduled a professional carpet cleaning. Have a great rest of your week!
