Happy Homemaker 2022-03-28

Hello!

Last week's 1st day of work in 2 years was exhausting.  Had to empty my old desk as we now have shared desks.  can't leave a pencil or box of kleenex on it.  we have a small locker... had to bring back 3 boxes of personal stuff... not helping my decluttering.

Last Thursday, daycare called and dh had to pick up grandkids around 11:00 am, all children were getting picked up.  daycare worker was tired... so dh babysat on Thursday and Friday.  My son sent a message Sunday afternoon, it will also be closed on Monday... sigh... they are not lucky with babysitters.

We did not see grandkids over the weekend since we had made plans for the sugar shack of my dad's cousin.  We got there (2 hours from here) around 9:00 on Saturday and left at 7:30 at night.  My parents, sis, bil, and niece met us there too.  It was a very nice day and we enjoyed it very much.  Bought a gallon of maple syrup from them.

Sunday was prepping for grandkids this upcoming week ( I doubt it will be closed only Monday).  I also tried to do a few lessons from Sketchbook Survival.

Update: posted this late Monday night.. daycare is open on Tuesday.  She has decided to keep 5 instead of 6 children.

sugar-detox week did not go well, was also stopped in it's tracks Friday.  However, the few days without dessert did make that my stomach felt better in the evenings so I will try to do more of it this week.

  1. Hi Lucie!
So sorry to hear work is adding stress (& clutter) in your life. I hope routine gets worked out again soon. And God bless you being such wonderful grandparents and helping out your kids so much with childcare. I know you treasure time with them...but I'm sure it can be tiring too.
I bet you have the BEST maple syrup up there!! Yum! Worth splurging 😉
    Blessings on your week. xoxo

  2. I managed to convert my husband over to real maple syrup (vs the other stuff, all sugar I guess?) a few years back. Definitely can tell the difference though I don't think I'll be putting it on spaghetti any time soon. Hope your strike day goes okay for you and that the rest of your week and weekend are amazing!

  3. I liked your decluttering this week "unsubscribing from emails". I like to keep a "clean" computer and try to clean it up 2 - 3 times per year. The number of email subscriptions can really get out of hand quickly!
