Decluttering 2025

I started my decluttering journey a few years back but it is an ongoing process.

Resumé of 2025 decluttering  (will help me stay focused)


Going through old posts and copying here (and looking at my calendar where I write down things)... of course many more were decluttered that I forgot to note... especially paper!!

January

    March
    • Some kids drawing in recycling..... we do have ALOT, they make at least a dozen everytime they come here.
    • Not here, but 2 big trash bags at mom's in laundry room were thrown out and 1 big one was for giving away.  Another small bag was given away from things here and there in their house

    April

    • Not here, but... Went through parent's 5 cabinets above sink ... threw a big garbage bag of products out and have a bag of  small things to give to thrift store.

    May

    • Went through a tub with children's clothes and got things out to give dd for her step-daughter:

      • 1 Christmas ensemble (given away at thrift store)
      • 1 short with suspenders
      • 1 summer dress
      From toy box:
      • 1 writing box with lighting
      • 1 baby bottle
    • Advent calendar from mom to dd's

    • Then I went up in the attic to get Halloween costume and accessories as the summer camp needs it for the children... I have ALOT (made by me). They are already GONE :)

      • 1 spaghetti costume (pants, sweater and overturned pasta bowl)... as if the spaghetti pasta bowl was overturned over your head

    • DD's graduation dress - given to an organism for youngsters with less $$ who want to attend their graduation

    • Got dd's Barbie stuff out of the attic and went through it all with Anne-E today. 3 boxes and 3 Barbie suitcases.  Kept 4 barbies and a few dresses for grandkids here.  the rest is GONE.  Anne-E chose herself what she wanted.

      • Table / chairs / BBQ / glasses for Barbie camping thrown away (just too old and yucky)
      • 5 Barbies in the garbage (barbie hair was reduced to dust, ugg)

    • 4 books I had gotten from cousin for kids last weekend were taken to ds's house but some are still here.  Will wait until dd gets here at some point during the holidays and we will go through children's books.

    • DH got stuff that was dd's out of the attic and to her house:  a box of Christmas ornaments
    • 2 boxes of Christmas garlands and houses to dd's
    • A pair of slippers of dh's (finally! they had holes in them)
    • A tape recorder
    • A wooden rocking horse (given back to dniece), a really nice piece made by an artisan, but it is hers and grandkids do not use it anymore and I don't have space in the basement.
    • 1 clothes shaver given to ddil (had 2)
    • 1 set of Christmas earrings with fur given to dniece (she loves everything furry).
