Decluttering 2025

I started my decluttering journey a few years back but it is an ongoing process.

Resumé of 2025 decluttering  (will help me stay focused)

Going through old posts and copying here (and looking at my calendar where I write down things)... of course many more were decluttered that I forgot to note... especially paper!!

January

• 2 pens

• PJ top

• 1 baby mirror for car
• From mom's: 1 bag of wool (did not keep as it smelled of humidity), 5 Christmas cups (will be given to dd), 1 bag of clothes of niece and nephew given back to them, 2 mini-muffin pans (given to ds)

• 2 sweaters of dh's became rags
• 1 metal stud he had in garage givent to bil for renovations
• Went through papers on counter and threw out quite a few 

February

• 4 marker pens
• 1 winter coat 
• 4 2004 brand new calendars

• Spool organizer
• 1 Christmas red-truck canvas needlepoint kit

• 1 pair of Christmas oven mitts
• 1 Christmas hand towel
• 1 bag of papers from mom's when we went on Tuesday

• 1 pair of ski pants (waaaaay too small)

March

• Some kids drawing in recycling..... we do have ALOT, they make at least a dozen everytime they come here.
• Not here, but 2 big trash bags at mom's in laundry room were thrown out and 1 big one was for giving away.  Another small bag was given away from things here and there in their house

April

• Went through some files and shred papers

• Not here, but... Went through parent's 5 cabinets above sink ... threw a big garbage bag of products out and have a bag of  small things to give to thrift store.

• A barrete
• A bottle of shampoo which I don't like the smell, will be given in the community armoire

May

• Tons of clothes and papers at mom's (I did bring back a few things)

June

• 2 gel pens

• 1 pair of sandals
• 8 pants,
• 2 skirts,
• 1 capri
• 1 baby playpen.
Went through a tub with children's clothes and got things out to give dd for her step-daughter:

• 1 skirt + sweater
• 1 sweater + 1 legging
• 1 Christmas ensemble (given away at thrift store)
• 1 short with suspenders
• 1 summer dress
From toy box:

• 1 writing box with lighting
• 1 baby bottle
• Advent calendar from mom to dd's

Then I went up in the attic to get Halloween costume and accessories as the summer camp needs it for the children... I have ALOT (made by me). They are already GONE 

• 2 skirts (thrown away just too old and out of shape)

• 1 spaghetti costume (pants, sweater and overturned pasta bowl)... as if the spaghetti pasta bowl was overturned over your head

• 1 costume little house in the prairie (skirt, shirt, apron, handbag, 3 bonnets, gloves)

• 1 Costume of pipi longstocking (pants, sweater, apron)

• 1 Egyptian costume with accessories (head crown, bracelet, belt)
• Black and white dress (Marilyn Monroe style)
• 1 afro wig, 1 blond wig, 1 pink wig

• 1 plastic tub to put stuff in
• 6 children books given away to free library (GONE)

July

November

• DD's graduation dress - given to an organism for youngsters with less $$ who want to attend their graduation

• 7 Halloween window decals (didn't stick properly anymore)

• Got dd's Barbie stuff out of the attic and went through it all with Anne-E today. 3 boxes and 3 Barbie suitcases.  Kept 4 barbies and a few dresses for grandkids here.  the rest is GONE.  Anne-E chose herself what she wanted.

  • Table / chairs / BBQ / glasses for Barbie camping thrown away (just too old and yucky)
  • 5 Barbies in the garbage (barbie hair was reduced to dust, ugg)

  • 1 Barbie suitcase given to Anne-E with the 2 barbies and some clothes
  • 1 Barbie suitcase to dd's full of clothes
  • 1 small bag of accessories - thrift store
  • 1 bag of shoes given to dd
  • 1 bag of small dishes and cutlery given to dd's
  • Barbie cat and dog + accessories given to Anne-E.

• 4 books I had gotten from cousin for kids last weekend were taken to ds's house but some are still here.  Will wait until dd gets here at some point during the holidays and we will go through children's books.

December

• 1 babyshark signing wood puzzle (will give to my sis's granddaughter)

• 1 rubbermaid rolling under bed storabe box (possibly to ddil)
• DH got stuff that was dd's out of the attic and to her house:  a box of Christmas ornaments
• 2 boxes of Christmas garlands and houses to dd's
• A pair of slippers of dh's (finally! they had holes in them)
• A tape recorder
• A wooden rocking horse (given back to dniece), a really nice piece made by an artisan, but it is hers and grandkids do not use it anymore and I don't have space in the basement.
• 1 clothes shaver given to ddil (had 2)
• 1 set of Christmas earrings with fur given to dniece (she loves everything furry).
