Happy Homemaker 2025-04-28

Good morning and goodbye to April this week... has been a cool and rainy month with not much sun.

Have not seen grandkids this week (no daycare strikes!), nor during the weekend.

Friday night we had a 60th bday party for a friend, was nice to see our friends again, been awhile.  supper was a pasta buffet (spaghetti, lasagna and chicken pasta), with caesar salad and a strawberry cake for dessert.  A sangria or beer was offered when we arrived.  2 shooters were also given during the evening (not for me thank you). we left around 11:00, was nice except the receptin room was very noisy.

Saturday we went in town to see my nephew's hockey game.  They lost so their hockey season is over.  The game was followed by the twin's hockey game (sons of nephew on other side of the family), they also lost but it was not a nice game... too much fighting on the ice and some not nice words between parents from both teams... I left the game for awhile and then came back to follow it down from the stairs.  Afterwards (it was almost 4:00 and we had not had lunch), we went with my brother, ex-sil (nephew's mom) and her niece to their hotel and had a nice early supper with them.  Had leftover pizza so left it with them for nephew and his cousin... (teens are always hungry).  They were staying one more night and going to see more games at the arena.  Got home at 7:00 pm.

Sunday was a house reset while dh made 2 chicken pot pies and a potato pie.

  1. Hello and happy Monday! You just gave me an idea. I have a bag set aside for a local blessing box and I didn't even think to put anything other than food in there! I just bought a new body wash (Dove) and I don't like the scent. I didn't even think about donating it there! Thank you for the idea!

Keeping your family in prayer. Have a good week.

  2. Hello my Lovely Lucie!
Sounds like it was a lovely weekend and the party sounded fun (if not a bit noisy). I think a tai chi class sounds really cool. I know as we age it can help a lot with balance etc. Your stories about hockey and crazy parents etc I relate with well. My kids were both in hockey for over a decade....so I was around that a lot too. Lol I love simple videos like that too. And your funny is hilarious and truly perfect for where I live! 😂

  3. Oh my I'm still laughing at your funny! But, oh so true!

Sorry the hockey parents were so contentious! Sad what parents teach children with this behavior.

I'm keeping your parents both in my prayers.

  4. Wat fijn dat je ouders nu hulp krijgen en o goed idee: ik heb ook wat spullen die ik niet gebruik, die ga ik ook in zo'n kastje zetten.
    Fijne week gewenst!
