Happy Homemaker 2024-07-01

Good morning and Bonne Journée du Canada (Canada Day)

Our national holiday today

I had a week vacation last week.  It was mostly a rainy week but don't care.  I got to do a few things around the house but mostly relax and read alot.  We also went to town to buy a mattress for basement bedroom... waiting for the bed to come back in stock at Ikea to order it.  Meanwhile will continue checking online.

Grandkids were sick 1 day each with a virus but are fine now.

Thursday brother called, they will be arriving Tuesday morning (2 brothers, 3 workers + niece + nephew) and will work Tuesday, Wednesday and possibly Thursday... so I will be taking those added days off work as they will all lodge here and I need to feed them.  So Thursday we went back to store and got the mattress, couldn't wait for it to be delivered only on Wednesday.  Dh also ordered what was needed for roof.

Friday guys went back to town to pick up stuff for roof but came back in time for the small boat ride we had reserved that was leaving at 10:30.  Took us an hour to get to Old Québec and walked around.  Had lunch there before taking the boat back at 3:00.  Got home at 4:30 and went to a local micro-brasserie for supper... it was great food - we had a great time.

Saturday we had to leave at 9:00 to pick up grandkids to go to dd's.  BIL was sick (probably too much sun on Friday) so they stayed and left later.  They did meet us at dd's in the afternoon.  DS and DDIL weren't supposed to come but they decided to come too.  Kids had fun in the pool even though it was gray and a little rain.  Mishap - Ely (dd's stepson 3years old) jumped on the couch and his front tooth was pushed in and a little out.. they got to see a dentist - it will stay that way until his baby teeth fall out.  We got home at 10:00 with grandkids and they sleptover.

Sunday was spent with grandkids.  Parents came for a few hours in the afternoon and they all left after supper.

Today will be spent prepping for upcoming week with company.

If interested my CIJ blogposts are scheduled to start July 1st.
