We had grandkids Wednesday after daycare as parents were in town and finished later.
Friday grandkids arrived for the weekend (with the dog who was shedding), we drove them back home for supper Sunday night. Parents were celebrating anniversary. Friday night was movie + popcorn and we all went to bed at 9:00 pm. Saturday we had to go to funeral parlor to offer our sympathies to some friends but went quickly, then we took them to the dollar store where they both got some wood animals to paint. I also decided they needed work gloves and an insect house with some magnifying glass... that insect house and magnifying glasses sure kept them busy! haha. We took them out for hot dogs Saturday night followed by a visit to sil where they had dessert (cookies and chocolate). Sunday was a slower day and we all napped in the afternoon. Had supper at ds' house (he had bought a pizza plate with his bday $$) for pizza. Got home around 6:30.
Today is errands, housechores, prepping for in-town work tomorrow...
Gray at the beginning of the week (rain all day today) and then getting some sun. Not too hot.

Looking around the house
Already afternoon so house is fine now. Still have a few things I want to pick up and put away.
Thinking and pondering
Another busy week ahead. DS has to go to Montreal 2 nights (wednesday and thursday) for work and ddil has to go to Montreal (Friday night and Saturday all day) for a funeral.
So, ddil has decided she will sleep in town Thursday (ds will be away) so we will pick up grandkids and they will sleep here. Friday we will also pick them up but ds is supposed to be back in town by 4:00.
Saturday ds' fil is supposed to go finish setting up the guard rails around pool but Xavier's godfather had registered him for local race in our village (where dh is volunteering Saturday morning). Sooo.... ds can't be at both places at the same time. We will probably end up going with Xavier for his 1km race.
Mom - spoke to sis on Friday, on Mother's day mom did not recognize sis... she named her children saying sis wasn't one of them, just a friend that came frequently to the house. She could not set table anymore - didn't know how. :(

So sorry to hear about your mother's worsening progression and all the memorials and funerals your family is enduring. DO like seeing the pictures of hoe much the grand kids are growing. LOVE the funny! Hope you have a GREAT week.
Oh dear sweet Lucie - I know the pain of dealing with your Mom's disease all too well. It's basically grieving the loss of someone while they're alive. It's so unfair. I was so close to my past MIL - not only as a Mom in my life but one of my best friends and I took care of her when she got Alzheimers. I pray and send hugs to you all! You are such wonderful grandparents doing so many fun things and watching your grandkiddos lots. They're so adorable! Your funny had me chuckling. Lol Blessings. xo
How difficult and sad it is, isn't it, that your mother is deteriorating.
But how nice that you bought work gloves, magnifying glasses and an insect house for the children. They can "research" nicely. I wish you a nice weekend (it's already Thursday 😉)
Oh, how sad about your mother. Those are really sensitive, emotional things, aren't they?
ReplyDeletevery emotional and so, so sad
