Happy Homemaker 2020-08-31

 Good morning!

Last week had bloodwork on Monday.. will have results when I see the doctor in a few weeks but I think it should look good.

Had the breaks changed on our Rav-4, so no car for a few days.

Had my grandson & dog Saturday and Sunday.  My son and daughter-in-law for lunch Sunday and everyone left after supper.  Xavier is walking when pushing a small toy with wheels.  He is growing up so fast.

My son threw away some toys of his and brought a little to his house (dinosaurs and cars!), so that is that much less in the house.

Let's join Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom .

Good morning!

Last week got caught up on my telework.  However had to call cable company and credit card company... that took quite a long time!  all is supposed to bre resolved for now.. once again.

Picked up Xavier at daycare on Monday, Thursday and Friday.  He had supper here Thursday and Friday... My daughter came to town on Friday so she wanted to see him as much as possible.  Daughter-in-law had some outing in town and so did my son that evening so my grandson stayed the night (as did the dog).

Saturday  my son and daughter in law arrived for lunch and left afterwards to go to her dad's house with grandson and the dog.  My daughter went to the gym and then for a hike.  My husband worked at my son's house and I did laundry and relaxed outside for awhile.  Me, my husband and daughter went to a restaurant for supper and then we did groceries.

Sunday morning my son came early with Xavier so my daughter could see him before leaving.  DDIL was on a hike with the dog but came by for lunch.  My son went grocery shopping while Xavier slept and me & my daughter went in the attic to get out boxes of school papers and some more toys for Xavier.  My son & daughter went through the school boxes and decluttered alot.. I want them to keep only 1 small box each if possible.  Threw away a few small old toys and washed the rest.  Want my son to go through them and see if he wants some at his house (guessing he won't).  Then I will keep some and donate the rest.  There are soooooo many toys in the attic... It think it would be enough for a family of 10!!

 Good morning!

Last week was busy with appointments but some things are over and done with... antibiotics are finished, IUD has been removed (hurt since it was ther 10 years yikes!), and teeth treatment is done.  Was an energy-draining week.

We babysat my grandon on Saturday - my son and daughter-in-law came back late from an outing and slept over.  they all left after lunch on Sunday.  Did a few housechores around the house.

Xavier is now crawling everywhere and is always trying to stand up - he's adorable!

Got a commode sent to mil's house for the new buyers.  However my husband brought back 2 couches for the basement... we now have 4 in there... 2 will be going out very very very soon.  He wants the elran-type lazy-boy couch instead of what we had.

On my mind
Trying to figure out what I need to have in the house until Christmas... I'm afraid a 2nd wave of Covid is around the corner and all will close again.  And I'm trying to go out as less as possible.
Tired of all the pills, medical appointments, etc... want it all to be over and be back to 100% normal.

Happy Homemaker 2020-08-10

 Good morning!

I started this post Sunday afternoon as I have to leave early on Monday morning for a medical appointment.

Last week was back to tele-work for me starting Wednesday.  My husband was on vacation for the week but he worked on our roof part of that time.

Last Tuesday we went to town with my son, ddil and Xavier so he could try the merry-go-rounds at the big shopping center (we all had masks and equipment was washed in between rides and 1 per car).  He did 2 rides and loved it.  After that we went to see a car for ddil and she bought it  (a used car but much more recent than the one she had).  Thursday my husband put her old car for sale and it sold in the morning.  Good thing done!

Wednesday had to go see doctor... an infection.. so got some antibiotics for 1 week. ugg!

The kids came for a picnic at municipal park on Saturday and stayed the night.  They left Sunday morning except for Xavier, they picked him up after lunch (they had things to do at the house in the morning).

The upcoming week is one full of appointments for me.... Monday - endocrinolgist to see how my thyroidite is coming along (I'm doing much better).  Thursday will be removal of IUD (been waiting 1 year for the hospital to call for this), Friday osteopath appointment.  Yuck!

Happy Homemaker 2020-08-03

Already August!

We are in the last stretch of vacations.  My husband's 3rd week and I should be back at work on Wednesday (I may take another day off though).

Last week was spent at home just taking care of things (washing front windows, regular household chores, laundry, decluttering, pay bills, grocery shopping).  My husband is doing repairs on our roof (and he did some on my son's roof too).  He also fixed doorbell... I think it never worked well in the 30 years I've lived here.
I had bloodwork on Friday.
We babysat Xavier Saturday and Sunday (daughter-in-law worked and my son was on a fishing trip with his friends).

We bought a used playpen (? playard) for Xavier as ours is getting old and sags a little.  we will keep the old one here and my husband will put a wooden plank in the bottom so it will be solid.  The other one will be theirs for when they go somewhere.  It was very solid and neat.

July was a good decluttering month (and all that is listed is already OUT of the house):

  • Cat litter box and cat litter (sold on Marketplace)... sold the same price we bought the playard on Marketplace
  • A cast-iron (?) cat door-holder (given to charity shop)
  • Small decorative water can (charity shop)
  • Horse candle holder (charity shop)
  • Single-bed comforter (charity shop)
  • Old make-up (garbage)
  • A shirt of my husband - brand new (given to my son)
  • 2 baby rattles (charity shop)
  • Decorative wooden bird (charity shop)
  • 3 binders (charity shop)
  • More baby toys (charity shop)
  • Computer bag (charity shoop)
  • My husband burned lots of papers of mother-in-law and lots of old income tax papers
  • Clothes (1 vest, 2 sweaters, 1 pair socks, 3 camis, 1 bathing suit, 2 t-shirts) (Charity shop)
  • 2 baskets
  • My daughter got rid of a full shelf of school papers
  • Back cushion for tv (garbage)
  • Baby changing table (charity shop)
  • 2 books

Finally should be less hot for a few days!  I hate the too hot temperatures with full humidity.

Woke up a few times with hot sweats during the night and was awake at 6:00.  DH got up so I went back to sleep until 7:45! wow that never happens so I'm ready to start my day right now.

On my mind
Thinking of ways I can declutter even more.  Start my Christmas ornament prototype and stop procraftinating.

On the breakfast plate
Forgot I had an osteoporosis pill to take this morning so my breakfast will have to be reheated (you have to take the pill and eat at least 30 min. later)... eggs and toasts and some strawberries and oat milk
