Happy Homemaker 2019-08-26

Wednesday my son had a problem with a wheel on his car so we followed him home - it was all crooked and the tire blew up about 5 km from home - so called a towing to bring it to a local repairman.  Finally seems the frame is broken so the car will have to be sold for parts (it was a 2007 toyota Yaris)

Took a sick day on Thursday (having problems with my Crohn's disease) and I have tons of sick days in bank which I have to go through and director is wanting to pay our sick /overtime banks so I prefer to use them up.  Did some catching up on happyhomaker blogs that I had not yet read.  I did my yoga stretching while listening to Christmas music.
Here are 2 yoga 20-min workouts I like Seated hip opener and Yoga for opening the shoulders.

Friday night we went to a local festival 'Rythmes et Papilles' for a few hours , 2 violinists and a guitar player around a fireplace, was nice.

Saturday we went to my parent's campground to have supper with them (2,5 hours to and fro).  My dad was 75 on the 23rd and we went for his birthday.  My niece and nephew were there with them for the weekend and my cousin and his girlfriend had come to have lunch with them. (left at 10:30 am and back at 10:30 pm)

Sunday we left at 9:00 to pick up my son and his girlfriend and came back here at 3:00 pm after going shopping with them.  They wanted to buy a freezer (my husband will pick it up with the truck on Monday night), and pick up the changing table that her dad had bought them for the baby.  We told them we'd buy them the rocking chair so we shopped around for that - they will go back to buy the one they want.  We also went to costco's as we had LOTS of staples to buy.

Happy Homemaker 2019-08-19

Had a 3-day week at work because of my Monday off and 1 day was a small intervention at doctor's office that didn't work.. so now I wait 2-3 months before they call me for an echography and then 1 full year of waiting to try again (I am priority 'E' ) ... at least it doesn't change anything for now and nothing is hurting.
My sister reserved a cabin for our Thanksgiving weekend in October for the family - for my parent's 55th wedding anniversary.  It's halfway between them and us.
Was another hot week but a few days with less humidity which is great!
Friday night we went to see a free music concert in next town 'Pépé et sa guitare'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oak_BaiIHo

Saturday my son, his girlfriend and her little sister (15 months) and the dog came for supper.
MIL came to sleepover (my sil, where she usually sleeps, was on vacation).
My husband finished putting dirt in the backyard, mowed the lawn and changed my son's car trunk (it was rusted) and then disposed of the old one.
I started some deep-cleaning of kitchen cabinets.

Happy Homemaker 2019-08-05

Now that CIJ is over for 2019, let's get back to our regular programming.

Vacations are almost over too (I go back to work on Wednesday and dh started back today).  We had scorching temperatures! Started them off with a weekend of fishing with my family (just one brother missing).
Then we went to Nova Scotia for a few days with my sister, brother-in-law, daughter, and 2 cousins and their wives.  It's the first time we go away on vacations with our cousins - it was lots of fun.
We did take a day to visit Halifax and the Alexander Keith Brewery.  Our Airbnb was great - a big cottage (5 rooms and 3 bathrooms) - it was brand new.  The view was fantastic.  The down side was that it was far from everything but then again we were there to relax.
We also had guests over for a few nights (cousin and brother and their wives).  We went to the  Bootlegger restaurant (14 of us) for supper and an evening too - it's an old house that was used for liquor and games during the prohibition with secret passages.
We also went 2 nights to listen to some free music concerts near here.

Last night my son's dog ran after a porcupine and they had to remove around 10 quills out of his snout - he is allright now.

On we go...
