Happy Homemaker 2019-12-16

Morning!

Last week we had our team Christmas dinner (delivery chicken) and we played games.  was nice.  Had to take bus home on Friday as my husband worked very late... took me 1,5 hours instead of 40 minutes - yuck.

We babysat the dog Saturday and part of Sunday.

Grandson finally got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon.  He had an infection and desaturation so he was in the nursery and we could not see or hold him.
As soon as he got home we were there - my son had called to make sure we would be.

We have a grandson!

DDIL was induced on Friday but Xavier was born at 4:03 am on Saturday Dec. 7th.  7.6 lbs. We went to see them at the hospital after work (her dad spent the day with ddil) and stayed to have supper with my son (he was very anxious and nervous and had nausea) and by the time we were ready to leave she was open at 7cm... so we thought we'll stay for a little.  my daughter was with us too.
She stayed at 9cm for a long time!  we were sure to have te baby in the late evening.  we ended up trying to sleep in the waiting room with ddil's dad.

It was a hard delivery with a small infection and fever.  Xavier has the infection so he is under observation at the nursery and we can't see or hold him.  We did see him about 1 minute when he was delivered.  Sunday night ddil was released from the hospital but Xavier has to have his bloodtest results on Monday to see if he will be released but most likely they will keep him another 7 days - only the parents can see him.  DDIL only got to hold him on Saturday at 6pm for some bonding and ds on Sunday around 11pm.

Saturday sis and bil came to town to see the parents a few minutes and then we had supper at the restaurant with them.

We have been babysitting the dog since Saturday night.

I can't wait to see and hold my 1st grandchild!!!!!

2018 - Happenings

I know, I know… I am posting this way too late, but better late than never!

Here are the highlights of 2018 – Good and bad

  • My job was changed and I was moved in another sector, while retaining my links to former team (still not sure if I like the move or not – but didn’t have a choice)
  • My uncle Baptiste and my aunt Raymonde (used to be married and parents to my cousin Luc), were deceased a few months apart

  • My son and his girlfriend bought their first house not far from us (it looks big but there is no basement so the basement is above ground - all rocks underneath - the garage is big though)

  •  Start of the remodeling of our main bathroom (finished spring 2019)

  • Start of installation of our backyard fence (was finished spring 2019 – had problems with the installation)

  • Both my nieces (Kasandra and Florence) are now adults – 18 years old (here in Quebec – the age of majority)
Florence

The blond one is Kasandra (Don't have a recent picture)

  • My daughter went back to school for her Master’s degree (to become a Super-infirmière)

  • My daughter moved back to Trois-Rivières because her boyfriend is from there and he wanted to be closer to his job.  She is closer to University too.
  • My sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast-cancer (she did chemio and is doing very well and had a very good attitude all the while).

I’ve started working on 2019, so it won’t be posted as late 😊

Happy Homemaker 2019-12-02

Welcome to December!

My mother's oldest sister passed away this week in Abitibi (a 9 hour ride from here) and the funerals are today so we didn't make it but my parents went with my brother (6 hour ride for them).  She lived in a home the last few years and suffered from Alzheimers, she had 9 children.

My daughter in law has Pupps pregnancy rash and it seems to be really uncomfortable.  She went back to hospital on Saturday (I took care of the dog) and she is open 3cm and they did a stripping of the membrane.  Since she is so miserable with the rash they will schedule by the end of next week to provoke the delivery (she will be 39 weeks in).  So we should have our baby by next weekend! :)  She just called and will come spend the day here - things are starting to move along.

My son and daughter in law came for supper after they got back from the hospital on Saturday night.

Good morning!

It's been a very busy week at work.  However paint class is finished and there was no posture class, so my lunch hours were more relaxed.  I was moved back to my old gang with my friends.
Friday morning my son and daughter-in-law went to the hospital so they could try and turn the baby and it worked!  Xavier is now head down and ready to go.  The baby is due for December 12.
Friday night was girl's night out with some friends from work.  We went bowling and then to a restaurant - we had lots of fun and laughed alot.
The weekend was spent finishing my Christmas baking and housechores too.  My son and ddil came for supper Saturday night as well as mother-in-law.
