Happy Homemaker 2025-10-06

Good afternoon

Busy weekend.  Took Friday off work to go to town 3 hours away and meet sis so we could go to bank together for some paperwork for mom (they needed my signature).  Sis was working afterwards so went with one of my brothers to see mom at her residence.  He had only been once since she's been there - finding it too hard to see her so diminished.  But she is doing much better (of course not her mind) so it went really well and he said he can go see her from now on (he used to go twice a day to see my parents when they were at the house just to be sure everything was allright).  

Saturday was major decluttering at parent's house (mom's cold storage room with lots of cooking pans, aluminium pie plates, etc, etc...), more bathroom products were decluttered and the section of the office armoire that had not been done yet.  Got a carload to thrift store, lots to recycling and garbage and some stuff given to a family friend.  Tried not to bring too much here.  Me and sis also did a little cleaning (vaccuming and bathroom) while the guys went to see a NHL hockey game at brother's house (son of my cousin plays for NHL).  We all met there afterwards for supper.

Sunday we all met (2 brothers, sis, me and spouses) to see mom at her residence.  Brought her outside with us, did her good as she does not go out anymore.  Sunday afternoon went with sis and bil to nephew's daughter's baptism - she wore the cape (not the outfit as it was too small), that mom had made for me (my baptism) from her wedding dress 60 years ago.  Sunday evening was funeral parlor (cousin's wife's brother - motorcycle accident).  Got back home at 10:00 pm.

Last week was unseasonably warm (as was the weekend), finally getting cooler mid-week.

Looking around the house

Nothing got done last weekend and having guests next weekend, so need to do stuff during the week.

• Pick out the pictures I need to get printed for the Christmas ornaments - still to do

Tuesday - In-town work 

Friday -  1st night of local Geese festival, free music... dh will go, don't think I will

Saturday - Guests will be here - supper and music at the Geese festival too.

Sunday - DD will be coming with grandkids, going to Geeese festival

Monday - Not sure if I'll be going to Tai-chi will depend if guests are still here or not - it is our THANKSGIVING DAY here in Canada
