Happy Homemaker 2024-11-25

Good morning, in one month it's Christmas!

Last week was fairly busy.  Had grandkids for supper 2 nights and they slept over once, we hadn't seen them in  more than a week so we were very happy to have them.

Got all Christmas cards adressed (24) but can't mail because Canada Post is on strike.

Spent the weekend at my parent's house.  My aunt and Uncle had come for a visit from Abitibi (6 hours away from my parents).  Had been 10 years since I had seen my aunt.  Then my other 2 aunts also came for a visit (all my mom's siblings).  They had come to see an aunt who is at hospital and my mom also (who is absolutely not doing better with her Alzheimer). Was nice to see them again.  I had brought lunch but my uncle had brought all the other meals for all of them as he knows mom doesn't cook anymore and dad does not really cook. I gave each of them a Christmas card (can't mail them as Canada Post is on strike) and a Christmas ornament I made.

Then we had a baby shower for nephew's upcoming little girl - surprise she will be coming this week instead of at Christmas - Mom has eclampcia so she will have her baby Thursday.  They will name her Romy.  Spent the night at sis' as aunts were staying at parent's house.

Sunday aunts left around 10:30 as there was snow in the forecast and they had a long drive.  We left after lunch.  Got dh and bil to go buy a Christmas tree for my parents... dad had gotten rid of the whole shed outside and tree was in there.  I got all the Christmas dishes out of the house and just finished washing them this morning.  They will be going to dd's house next weekend.  Stopped by a friend's house on the way back to deliver a Christmas ornament.  Got home for supper.

Good news this morning my cousin won at casino with a friend.  She lives alone so this will help her I'm sure

  1. Sounds like you had a busy, but good time at your mom's house with a little mini reunion. Those pictures of the kids are adorable - I can't believe how big they're getting. I have a lot to do for Christmas as our American Thanksgiving is so late and we traditionally start Christmas things AFTER Thanksgiving so that is throwing me off this year. Christmas tree farm doesn't even open until the day after Thanksgiving so will be getting Christmas wreaths next Friday and will scurry to decorate after that. Have a wonderful week. I hope your postal strike doesn't last too long.

Nice pictures (also the ones from the baby shower).
    Enjoy!

  3. Hello Lucie! First of all - could the header on your blog be any cuter? I LOVE that pic of you!! 💚 Next, so sorry about your post being on strike - geesh! Makes sending Christmas cards difficult. And I sure feel for your nephew's wife. I had pre-eclampsia and my son had to come a month and half early. Always a scary thing - I pray all goes well. Love the pics of your Little's in the Christmas spirit! 💗 Blessings on your week ahead. xo
