Good morning
Happy 76th birthday to my mom!
Workfront - with our team supervisor leaving it has been busy, busy, busy.. taking on some of her files + our job. Me and cw are trying to take it one day at a time.
Last week daycare was closed on Wednesday and I worked in town so dh did the babysitting. Thursday night was neighbor's birthday and they invited us for pizza but we had the grandkids for supper (ddil had a supper with friends and ds was playing ball - too many absentees so he had to go).. finally we all ate in the gazebo with neighbors. Grandkids slept over. Since daycare was also closed on Friday (she is taking all her Fridays off for the summer), they stayed here in the morning and ds picked them up at noon. He had taken a day off work to care for them. We ended up going for ice cream cones Friday evening... 8:10 and McD was closed! so we went to an ice-cream parlour... dh just had soft vanilla and I had mine dipped in chocolate... it cost us $11!! and they were NOT big ones... I had a small and dh a medium cone.
Finished the 12 Christmas card inserts I am making for friends... can't post a picture in case someone reads this post ;)
Saturday was chores in the morning and then we had a party with friends (hockey parents from when ds was younger), afternoon by the pool, supper and evening.
We were to meet sis, bil, cousin + boyfriend, aunt +uncle, brother+sil+niece+nephew for breakfast Sunday but there is a big music festival in town so no hotels. They ended coming here for sleep and they left after breakfast on Sunday. Was fun to see family. Grandkids came by Sunday morning and left a little before supper as parents went to play golf.
Woke up a few times during the night, sore throat and just general not feeling well. did a covid test this morning but nope, not that, so I'm thinking I just have a bad cold. will take tylenols today and do sinus rinse.

- Laundry, laundry, laundry (have to wash all bedding of guests)
- Vac main floor
- Do a painting?
- Darn sock?
- Nothing? nap? since I feel unwell...
- Beef bourguignon in the crockpot - cooking as we speak
- Nothing but need to get back on track

ReplyDeleteOh and Happy bday to your Mom!! I hope she's been doing well. And so glad you've been able to get lots of family time. It's so sad about your dh's uncle situation - life is too short too be cruel to those we love most. And to just take the time to put all aside to honor their relative's life. So sorry to your dh and family for all of that.

Sounds like you have been SUPER busy lately, but sure having some fun. So sorry to hear about family squabbles overshadowing the funeral - so sad. Condolences to your family. Your funny has me laughing so hard as I have a neighbor who has lights not only up, but on :D Still hoping your work situation gets better soon. Have a GREAT rest of the week.
