Happy Homemaker 2022-07-18

Good morning

What a week / weekend!

1st I was sick all week with a wicked cold (2 negative covid tests), I did work in town 1,5 days and the rest in telework.  So I've been exhausted with this cold and very busy at work with team supervisor leaving next week and giving us parts of her job and showing us new things.

Friday dh babysat as daycare was closed.  Kids picked up grandkids after supper... and called back half an hour later, something wrong with the water pump - No water! and of course it's being Friday night well it'll have to wait until Monday... so back they came all 4 of them, with the dog! ... and here I was thinking I would take the weekend to get rid of that cold...  I did start feeling less opressed starting Saturday afternoon.  Still not 100% but waaayyyy better than it was last week.

Saturday we had 2 funerals to attend (I went only to one did not know the other person), and one of dh's cousin came by to chat a little afterwards as there was nothing after the funeral as the whole family of the deceased (dh's uncle) is not speaking to each other .  We ordered pizza on Saturday night as we were all exhausted.  Both grandkids now have a cold too and nights are not easy as they wake up coughing and with stuffed nose and as a result... a little vomiting going on too... sigh...  Xavier sleeps in our room and Anne-E in the basement in a room and her parents in another one.

Sunday ddil left around 9:30 with Xavier as she is going to babysit the children of her friend on Sunday night.  She took Monday off (not to babysit! it was already planned).  DS will be taking some water home with him as he is teleworking on Monday from home.  Hoping they can all fix it not too expensively on Monday.

This morning ds left with Anne-E after her breakfast to drop her off to daycare.  So I tell dh to spray the shower (after he took it) so I can wash it but he sprayed right to the top of the ceramic wall, way too high for me so told him you do the top and I'll take care of the rest.  So he starts doing that and uses a step.  DS comes back because he didn't have his house keys and he's in a rush because it's his last week before vacation and has alot of work and meetings... so dh starts asking what's going on and falls down in the shower.  he scrapped his knee, hand and fingers but at least nothing broken on him or the shower ;)  Finally found the keys outside under the swing (good thing ds finally remembered he saw Anne-E playing with them - he was the one who had gave them to her).haha.  So today will be housechores for me (LOTS of them), dh will be mowing before it gets too hot and before thunderstorms and then he is going to ds' house to help out.

... so 3rd weekend in a row with not enough sleeping (and not much sleeping during the week with this cold).  I am truly exhausted and next week is to be VERY busy at work + a 5 à 7 (happy hour) for departing supervisor (have to go because I worked alot with her)... then on Friday night FINALLY will start a 2-week vacation.

Will try to do some next week while on staycation - it'll be a mess trying to get out of our town there is the big religious celebration of Fête Ste-Anne (July 26th) which is always full AND the pope is coming to town on the 28th of July.  They are telling people to not go out and the roads will be closed.  So we will be doing our grocery at the latest on the 25th and not go out until the pope leaves.   My cousin will be coming on the 26th (good luck to her to get here!!) for a few days.
