Happy Homemaker 2022-02-28

Good morning!

Today is my godson's birthday - Happy 29th birthday Kevin!

Last Thursday we had Xavier for the afternoon (he had an eye exam in the morning and then dil dropped him off here for the afternoon).  Thursday night we went to a fancy restaurant in town with my brother and sister-in law - very good and a good time too.  so nice to start seeing people again.

I took Friday afternoon off because had too many hours done during the month - was not a good week at work though, ah well... it is what it is.  Friday night we invited our next-door neighbors to chat for the evening.

Saturday was an at-home day (sooooo cold!) with lots of chores.   The grandkids were off to their other grandpa's house and Xavier slept there so we did not see them this weekend.  Spent Saturday night at sil's house chatting.

Sunday we had 9:00 mass (in memory of father in law).  Then I did some housechores in the morning and read part of the afternoon.  Chatted with my sister on FT.  Dad fell twice (rumor has it it's 3) on Saturday morning (on ice) and probably has some fractured ribs but refuses to go to the hospital.  He knows they have to heal by themselves (had fractured ribs when he was younger).  Mom was not having a good memory day either.  My husband went to a hockey game with neighbor in the afternoon.

My cousin, her boyfriend and son will probably be coming for a visit Thursday and Friday, she will call back Tuesday to confirm.

Let's join Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom .

Snoopy quick and easy doodle - perfect for a card

On the menu this week
leftover chicken, and then we will eat from the freezer

From the camera:

Looking around the house
Living room - book on the coffe table with socks to knit and a Gooseberry Patch cookbook to look at, St-Patrick's day on the fireplace mantel...with toys for the grandkids!  A lived-in room.
I need to work on the basement too but for now will try to keep on with deep-spring cleaning main floor and hopefully more decluttering.  My niece is doing lots of arts / crafts so told her when she comes here we will go through some things.

On my to-do list
Done during the weekend
  • My husband washed all ceilings on main floor
  • Deep-cleaned the office (walls, woodwork, windows, floors, furniture... only thing left is air out curtains but too windy and cold outside - will get done at a later date)
  • Decluttered some cd's
  • Filed papers from my bedside table
  • Cooked a whole chicken
  • Made some Jello for grandkids
  • Washed main bathroom
  • Laundry
  • Vac'd main floor
Monday
  • Post here - DONE
  • Deep-clean my bedroom (walls, woodwork, furniture, floors, luminary, plants) - will need to air out curtains when it's nicer outside... or better yet... they need CHANGING.
Decluttering
  • 1 sippy cup
  • 7 markers + 1 old paint tube
  • 6 cd's + 1 empty cd box
  • 4 empty boxes
  • Old body perfume bottle
To relax this week or In my crafting basket
Crafting basket - knit socks, maybe do a watercolor card
Watch some tv, read, go for walks if not too cold and windy

  1. Oh, your poor dad, injured ribs really hurt. And he's right, there's nothing that can be done for them. Hope things improve at your job. Glad you're able to socialize again. Stay warm!

  3. Rib injuries are so painful, I am so sorry your dad fell and hurt himself. He is right though, there's really nothing they do for ribs. Praying he gets better soon.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

  5. Hi Lucie!
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. He sounds like a tough fellow. I hope he's okay and that he'll heal quickly.
So nice that you're able to get out in life a bit more these days. Numbers are going down here a bit too. Reading about all your clean/declutter makes me want to jump into Spring cleaning!
Love your funny - I definitely relate. Lol
    Blessings xo
