Happy Homemaker 2021-08-02

Good morning!

Vacations are over for dh as of today and mine will be over Tuesday night.

Monday - My brother and sil came and stayed for the night. He had brought supper and even took care of cooking everything and helping out with the cleaning up afterwards.  DS and grandkids came for supper to see them too.

Tuesday  - DS & DDIL went to the waterpark with Xavier while I babysat Anne-Elizabeth.  DH went to work that day and shopped for a cowboy hat for Xavier for Saturday's party.

Wednesday - had both grandkids here as the kids went to play golf + restaurant with friends afterwards.  Xavier was not feeling the greatest.  He was sick when I put him to bed and had to wash him up again.  He slept over.  Kids picked up Anne-E around 8:00 pm.

Thursday - ddil went to the clinic with Xavier, he has laryngitis (?sp)  We did a few things around the house and then met my brother and sil with another couple for supper at a nice micro-brewery in Baie St-Paul.  Bro picked up the check before it ever came to our table.  ame back home around 9:30

Friday was picking up around the house.  I managed to clean basement bathroom, pay some bills, and cook a few things.  DH made some sheppard's pie and he dropped a pan at ds' house.  He painted the clotheline post and did some picking up around the garage.

Saturday dd arrived for lunch.  DS had a golf tournament but met us at the party for supper.  DDIL & grandkids arrived around 4:00 at party.  We had a country b-day party for brother-in-law (next street from us) for his 50th bday.  He had planned that party more than a year ago.  Country dancing in the afternoon (I went around 3:00 and dh left at 1:30).  Supper was pork & beef mechoui and in the evening we had a country singer.  It was alot of fun.  However someone did call the police at 8:30 to say the sound was too loud.... they came by at 10:00 to tell us.  We got home around 11:30.

On my mind
Lots to do in the house before starting back work on Wednesday.
DDIL is having 2nd interview for a job today... hoping her daycare will FINALLY reopen (has been closed since March and keeps putting off the reopening from month to month)... all the other children have left except Xavier who is still on her list.  Lots of problems finding a daycare around here, hoping she has not waited for a reopening that might not happen.
Starting tomorrow she found a temporary daycare (3 days) for Xavier but it is only for 2 months and no place for Anne-E.  For now it's ok as ddil is on maternity leave, but....

On the breakfast plate

  3. Ha, that quote is oh so true. Sorry your grandson wasn't feeling well, hope he's feeling much better and that your daughter-in-law can figure out the daycare. Both your grandchildren are adorable. Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation and have a wonderful week!
