Happy Homemaker 2024-09-02

 Welcome 'BER' months!!!  

A cool 12C (53F) here this morning).  Should be 16C today.

Saturday was spent with grandkids, they arrived for breakfast and then ddil arrived around 11:00. DS was at his golf tournament for his hockey team. It was raining so I took out Fall decor and had some helpers that decorated with me 😏 then we played some games, had them paint for awhile and watched a movie with them. I had spaghetti sauce in the crockpot (so spaghetti & lasagna for supper) and dh had made sheppard's pie for lunch with the leftover ground meat I had cooked. Around 6:30 dh left with ddil and grandkids so she could pick up ds's car (she was the designated driver). DH came back with grandkids and candy 😁 They slept over.
Sunday was Xavier's final baseball .. he had 2 games. They had popcorn, chips, gum some hot-dogs with European sausages (which no children ate duh...) and he got a medal and some baseball cards with his picture. They came back around 12:30. 

I stayed here with Anne-E and she played quietly (she did help a little with some dusting) while I did housechores. DDIL left with Anne-E when they got back. Xavier was catching Pokemons with his dad and they left at 2:30.
Neighbors came to chat in the afternoon and we ordered pizza and ate in the gazebo... we got LOTS of rain while we were in there.

Looking around the house

Managed some housechores yesterday, so not so bad.  Autumn decor is up.  Might add

something else (an Autumn tree on the wall but not sure)

Thinking and pondering

Free tai-chi class in next town at 9:30, going or not?? I've looked online and there are some so not sure I want to go every week.. for now I don't know when they will be held.  Today is just a free try out of all classes offered.

The Nightingale by Kirstin Hanna - finished it this morning... WWII and how some women had part in the war by saving people.  Good book.

On my to-do list

During the week

• I DID get passeport to the passeport office last week, we should get them for Sept 25
• Ikea bed... pfffff they finally got it in stock (worth $300) but charging $139 for delivery... so we will wait until we can go get it ourselves.
• Basement curtains are now at sewing lady as well as a pair of pants to hem
• Got the 5 lbs of beets pickled and put away.

Over the weekend

• Dust main floor
• Laundry
• Spaghetti sauce in crockpot (made 1 lasagna for this week, 1 to freeze and froze rest of sauce)
• Wash main bathroom

• Turnips and carrots to cut and freeze
• Attend free tai-chi class?? ✅ and also did the free Qi-Qong class outside
• Work on Christmas ornament

• Prep for in-town work tomorrow
