Happy Homemaker 2024-08-26

 Good morning 

DH finished taking off, painting and putting back up shutters around the house and darkening the asphalt in the driveway.

Friday, after work, went to town hall - there was an event of outside movie (children's) with free hot-dogs and grilled cheese.  We stayed until the beginning of the movie chatting with people and then went to rodeo in next town to walk the streets with food trucks and some vendors.  Got a vegan oat icecream with real strawberries mixed in there - very good but $$.

Weekend was spent mostly at dd's (2 hours from here) with dh helping out with the under-top of the summer kitchen.  We also went to my brother's on Saturday night (2 hours from dd's) for corn-on-the-cob / hot-dog party for dad's 80th bday.  was really nice , saw some family I had not seen for years so very happy about that.  Went back on Sunday morning to dd's and sis and bil came with us to help out.  Got back home last night around 8:15

So today I have a mile-long to-do list

it is HOT out there

Autumn chores are coming up... long Labor day weekend planning... planning a trip with sis and bil in the Fall?  New passeports need to be ordered...

• Laundry, laundry, laundry
• Cook a 5lb bag of beets and pickle them
• Grrrr wanted to order the ikea bed, it became available Friday but since we were out all weekend wanted to do it this morning... unavailable once again.
• Measure basement curtains to get them hemmed
• Have some turnips to cut and freeze
• Vac main floor
• wash main bathroom
• Get passeport picture taken
• Go get some $$ at the bank-teller
• Figure out where and when we will take our 4-day weekend with sis this Fall... thinking of Philadelphia
• DD gave me some clothes from Alysanne for Anne-E so have to go through that and see what fits
• .... lots, lots more
• DH will fix gutters that need fixing and mow the lawn

Decluttering 

• Sent a big plastic toy car (the ones where they get in and get it to advance with their feet) to thrift store
• A big wooden door sent to eco-center

  Work on Christmas ornament - prototype is done but not quite satisfied... need to make it smaller and have a hard time sewing all around thinking maybe some fabric glue.. not sure.
