What makes me happy: Happy Homemaker 2026-10-12

Happy Thanksgiving (here in Canada). A cool 13C (forecast is temps going down to 5C during the day) with rain.. A Fall day

Thursday dh picked up grandkids from school bus so they had supper here.

Friday I had taken a day off to pick up before guest arrived for the weekend and a few errands. Grandkids came for supper and stayed the night.

Saturday sis arrived at 11:00 am, ds and family around 1:00, dd and family around 1:30 and aunt and uncle around 3:30. Was our local white geese festival in town. We all went to visit the craft show, motorcycle hability show, big blownup games for the grandkids. Supper was me, dh, sis, bil, aunt and uncle - méchoui, very good but show that followed was way too lound, most of the people left, we couldn't here anything with the noise. got back home at 9:30. Kids and grandkids had supper here at our house - fondue chinoise. When we got home ds & family were gone and dd& family were sleeping.

Sunday was another early day, family photo session at 9:00, went very well, we took some pics with our cells which I will share below, can't wait to see the professional ones. Everyone had breakfast and lunch here before going back to festival (dd finally went to see ds' new home while grandkids stayed here). then, grandkids played in the games and we went to visit and see the colors with sis and bil (uncle and aunt left before lunch). DD left around 2:00. Sis and bil left at 4:00. DS came to get their things around 5:00 they were having friends over for supper. DH invited his cousin (his car was in the old car show here in town) and his wife for supper. we had picked up a geese pie (very good and $$) and I had some French onion soup. Went to bed at 10:30.

Very tired this morning with a slight headache. Still more today at Geese festival but not going, will be picking up day.

Getting cold! Some places not far have snow in the forecast.

Looking around the house

Lots to do.. wash beds, rewash both bathrroms, vaccum, in other words almost a whole house reset.

Thinking and pondering

Gastro office called on Saturday for colonoscopy on Oct 22nd (she hadn't mentioned this when we talked last week), so will have to pick up the prep bottles (uggg) and take a sick day. dh will be accompanying me.

Financial advisor contacted me and we have done a few things still waiting for a plan but meanwhile another advisor sent me one (had a few $$ with them at work) so will have to look at that.

Want the house 'resetted' and ready to go towards Halloween (4 boxes of 40 chips bought, 2 bags of lollipops) and Christmas.
