Happy Homemaker 2026-10-05

Good morning, a cool 11C with rain

Busy week last week, 1 day work in town, going to sewing lady, osteo appointment, gastro appointment, esthetician appointment, financial advisor appointment, dh worked 2 days at anticipation votes for the polls. I took Wednesday afternoon off for financial advisor (in another town) and 1 day off on Friday (have too many days accumulated and need to use them up before retirement).

Saturday was housechores and supper at McD's with neighbors.

Sunday went to Xavier's hockey practice at 7:15 am, followed by groceries and a few more housechores and cooking.  Afternoon outside chatting with neighbors.

Woke up with a headache today, took a tylenol.  should pass soon.

Looking around the house

DH has got the heating started (Saturday night went down to 4C outside).  Have picked up getting ready for Thanksgiving weekend next week.

Thinking and pondering

Have met financial cousellor - waiting for him to make me a retirement plan, with that will decide if I stop in December or continue a few months at 3 days a week

Photographer confirmed date of Oct 12 for the family photo session but time and place to be confirmed the day before.

• Deep-clean basement bathroom (walls, ceiling, woodwork, window, light fixtures, floor, shower, toilet,....) 
• Make onion soup to freeze
• Cook, slice and brown italian sausages to freeze
• Make some meatballs to freeze
• Laundry
• Vac basement
• Send osteo bill to insurance (they pay 30$ out of 120$ :( )
• Change frames and pictures in kitchen for Fall ones.  with those new frames I can change my pictures everytime for seasonal decor.
• Pay car registration

Monday

• Post here - DONE
• Prep for in-town work tomorrow 
• Wash main bathroom
• Make space for coats and shoes in entry closet before next weekend
• See if we have winter clothing to donate to winter-wear drive this week.
• DH will be couting votes tonight for a few hours - tonight we will have a new prime minister for our province.

Simple pleasure

Being alone in the house once in awhile, nice!  A good tv program with some tea.
