Happy Homemaker 2025-09-01

Welcome September!

What a busy week with Xavier starting kindergarden, work, going to my counsin's wedding, visiting mom.

It was a nice wedding on a campground but at the bottom of the hill where the river is and it was private for us so we could enjoy without disturbing anyone.  Unfortunately it was one of the VERY rare days this summer to be cold and rain but they had a big tent so all went well.  I cannot put wedding pictures on FB as per the couple's wishes but I still have a few without them on it.

DD also called to say she bought a new car (it was time) and she joined an adult cheerleading team with her stepdaughter also doing cheerleading.  Xavier & Ely will be starting hockey this year.

A nice week but today rain would've been welcome so I could do housechores without feeling guilty.

Looking around the house

Nothing is done so my work is cutout for me.

Thinking and pondering

Xavier had 2 half days this week and 2 half days next week and then he will be full time in school.  Since school is near our house he came on Thursday, Friday he stayed in school daycare (they were having a corn on the cob party).  I think dh will be picking him up Tuesday and Wednesday (have to check with ds to be sure).  Full time means he finishes at 2:15 and stays in daycare afterwards, we'll se if he comes here once in a while instead.
Mom seems to be doing okay where she is.  She does not recognize us anymore but when she saw me she made some space in her chair, she wanted me to sit next to her.  I asked her if she was ok there and she says she is in a good place... don't know if she realizes what she is talking about or not.  She still has some weight and strength to get back but don't know if that will happen.  They do take care of the residents very well.
Wedding was a COLD (15C with feeling of 11C) and wet but inside big tent was fine.  Food was from a food truck and very good, cakes were sooo good!

  1. Good morning Lucie. From the few pictures of the wedding I can see you had a GREAT time - BIG smiles tell all. How exciting for Xavier to be in school full time now making life long friends I'm sure - they sure grow fast!

I'm glad your mom is in a good place. It is always so sad when they stop recognizing those they know best, but obviously there was a glimmer in there if she wanted you to sit with her. I pray she continues to regain her health.

Have a wonderful week my friend.
