Happy Homemaker 2025-03-24

 Good morning

Post going out on Sunday night.

Another full week around here.  Still coughing some... this cold just doesn't want to quit.

Dad is meeting surgeon Tuesday morning to see if his pancreatic cancer is operable or not.  Oncologist said 3 choices, operation (and a big one at that), chimio or nothing.  Seems for now the cancer has not spread but dad has not been feeling well the last few days.

We had grandkids 2 days as daycare was on strike (again), then for the weekend as parents were taking a weekend off (so we had them from Friday after daycare until Monday when dh drives them to daycare).

We went to my uncle's sugar shack with grandkids.  dd and dsil met us there with the other grandkids as well as 1 brother and niece and nephew.  We were lucky it was sunny and quite comfortable.  We all had a great day - sugar taffy, horse ride, cote-à-cote ride, getting the maple water, ...

  1. Cute pictures of the kids at the sugar shack! Keeping your dad in my prayers. I sure hope it's early enough he can have the surgery - theoretically that will give him the longest and best outcomes. And I hope you start feeling better realy soon and get rid of that cough! Have a great week.

  2. Ik hoop dat je hoest toch echt minder gaat worden, het duurt al zo lang. Spannend die berichten over je vader, ik hoop dat er echt iets aan gedaan kan worden.
    Hartelijke groet!

  3. The sugar shack looks so fun! Hope you get the results for your dad very soon and they are good ones. It's hard being sick and emotionally drained all at once, hope you are being kind to yourself.

  4. Hi Lucie!
I hope you get over that cold fully soon! And continued prayers for your Dad and whichever option is decided. 🙏🏻 Love the pics of the kiddos and family at the sugar shack. Looks like a lot of fun! I know one of my gf lives out in the country and they have maple trees and make their own syrup. She invited us out to watch the process - need to do that one of these seasons. Have a great week! xoxo

  5. Sending up prayers for your dad and your whole family. My mother had lung/brain cancer and I know how agonizing all of the testing and waiting and hoping and praying is.

Does Tai Chi help you with stress/worry? Or do you do it mostly for the movement? I tried it awhile back and I would love to get back into it.

    Have a blessed week!
