CIJ day 4 / jour 4
Describe what you know about the North Pole. Describe a typical day for the Elves.
I am not a very good writer, rather simplistic in my approach, so please bear with me.
First of all, there is a red/white signpost North Pole right in the middle of the Artic Circle. You need to follow the snowy trail to a beautiful village with little log houses all illuminated with Christmas lights.
The, there is a bakery with all kinds of goodies and colorful cookies that smell soooooo good!
The toy shop is full of Elves laughing and working in harmony. Then there are Santa’s administrative office, the tiny Elve houses and the Reindeers’ stable.
Christmas music fills the air in the town square.
An Elf’s typical day
The elves are up with the sun, then they go to the cafeteria located next to the toy shop. They have cookies and hot chocolate, hot buttered pastries and milk. Then everyone goes to their work place where they sing a Christmas song before starting their working day. At noon everyone goes to the cafeteria for a sumptuous lunch of turkey, potatoes and a heavenly choice of pies. Then it is back to work for the afternoon. Supper is also a communal affair and there is a variety of meats and vegetables with cakes of all kind.
In the evening, they meet in the town square for a game of hockey, ice skating, sledding, snowball fights and building snowmen.
At 8:00 everyone goes back home to rest and relax and to be in bed by 9:00, with a nice fire going in the fireplace.
Weekends are spent meeting with friends and chatting at the bakery, decorating town square and adding lights, playing with the reindeers and playing outside in the snow.
