Good morning
Recap of last week
Monday night had vitreous detachment in my right eye (had one in my left one since January 2024) - nothing can be done but you have to see eye-doctor 12-24 hours so they can see if there is danger of retina detachment (which can be dangerous)... so tried at 2 places on Tueaday morning... let,s just say not everyone has customer service in their DNA, so ended up at the eye-hospital... 7,25 hours later they told me it was vitreous detachment, eye is ok and I have another appointment upcoming Thursday to check it out at same hospital.. so that was my Tuesday, no work. in my left eye I thought it was terrible the circle I always see but in this eye it is like a galaxy with a spiral and dots everywhere. It is what it is seems the brain will adjust. 50% of people over 50 will have vitreous detachment. I used to have small dots once in awhile but when it happens your eye is filled with a black spiderweb for a few minutes. Let's just say this getting old is for the birds as my friend Pam would say.
Thursday grandkids came for supper.
DH is still have problems with his ne cell phone and he went there on Tuesday and on Friday. So had it with this.
Weekend was a routine one, which is good. I like routine. We did have dog over as kids were with friends in a rented cottage.
Sis called yesterday, mom is doing ok and her sisters (who live 6 hours away) came to see her last weekend. On the other hand another of my mom's sis is in hospital and will have to live in assisted living. Not alzheimer but another form (2 out of 100,000 people) and she will have 5 to 8 years and lose speech and more. :(

About that vitreous, it's bothering me a little bit, like flies are constantly flying in front of my face.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's nice to have some relief.
Have a good week.
I’m so sorry about your eye! I had some hearing loss in one of my ears and when I went to the doctor he said it sounded muffled but like you said it was just my brain adjusting to it. For months it was terrible with ringing and muffled hearing but he was right I eventually adjusted and unless I hold a phone to it, it is generally unproblematic for me. I hope yours adjusts as well!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your Moms sister. It’s heartbreaking to get news like that….
I’m praying for you this week, and I hope you enjoy those grandbabies
Oh dear Lucie - so sorry you have to deal with that eye business! How scary, but so glad you'll be okay. The time is flying so fast and our favorite holiday will be here before we know it! 🎄🌟😉 But first Halloween (& for us in the states Thanksgiving too). Love your funny! I relate.😂🙈

Sweet Lucie I'm so sorry to hear about your eye - such a scary thing. Take care of yourself and I'll keep you in my prayers. Happy Halloween and like Carrie said, we have Thanksgiving here next, but that won't stop me from starting my Christmas decorating tomorrow.
