Happy Homemaker 2024-04-29

Good morning

Feeling better, still some residual coughing but not much - still applies for this week.

What a busy weekend!  I worked until 10:00 am on Friday then took the rest of the day off to go see my nephew in a hockey tournament in town (they had played 1st game Thursday night - he had gone with friends).  My brother and niece arrived at the end of the 2nd period as they had a flat tire on their way (it's a 2:30 hour drive for them, 30 minutes for us).  After the game the parents went back to hotel with nephew and his friends so we crossed the street where there are 3 big stores with my niece.  She spent the afternoon with us, we ate at food court and I bought her a book... she LOVES reading.  Her dad had given her some $$ too so she got a 2nd book.  Then we got some ice cream and dropped her off around 5:00 pm, we then went to costco's and got home at 7:15.  

Saturday was to be Anne-E's bday starting at 9:30 but got pushed to 2:00 pm, so we went back to town for 3rd game of tournament, which they also won.  Couldn't stay for the 4th game Saturday night but they also won it.  Spent the afternoon at ds's house with ddil's family.  DD, boyfriend and stepchildren came too.  It was a nice afternoon in the sun.  We all stayed for a hot-dog supper and birthday cake.  We came back here around 8:00 with dd and family.  They slept here.

Sunday ds and grandkids arrived for breakfast (had invited them so the children could play with each other).  DDIL arrived for lunch.  They all ended up staying for lunch.  DD & family left around 1:00, same time as ds& ddil who were going to spend the afternoon at the spa.  So grandkids stayed here for their nap and we had to wake them up to take them to the hockey game (final!) in the afternoon (they had won 5th game that same morning).  It was a bit long for them but I had brought some food, drinks and toys.  The boys lost the last game but they were happy to have been in finals.  We stopped by McD's for supper with grandkids and ds & ddil met us there to have supper with us and pick up grandkids.

So today will be picking up and trying to get a few minutes to relax.

Around 12C everyday with mix sun and clouds, except for Tuesday (rain and 7C)

Looking around the house

Not as bad as it could've been as the kids were not here that long.  Today is picking up.

Thinking and pondering

Temperatures are rising, I need to start the outside work... think I'll make a list where it can be seen by dh ;)  just in case....

• Pay cell phone bill
• Work on cij blogposts
• Wash a few inside front windows to put up last 3 screen windows

Decluttering 

• Not sure it's decluttering but the last 5 Easter gifts that were still here are now given away.

Upcoming this week

Tuesday - in-town work and lunch with cw's (was to be last week but was the only one who did not forget so ended up having to go get a lunch... and since it was such a nice day went to the thrift store and got Xavier a dinosaur book and a t-Rex skeleton, a Christmas search book for Anne-E... all for 1.75... they were delighted!
