Good morning
A non-routine week for me... Tuesday dh decided he wanted to go to the car show with bil so he drove me to work and picked me up... however that means a little less hours as he drives me in late and picks me up early (we have variable hours within limits).
Wednesday was telework but dh wanted to go back to car show so I could try some cars (I'm short so he wants to see if I can drive it. So we left at 2:30 (took some time off work) and then we went to the big Videotron Center as Xavier was playing with teams of small friends before the real hockey game for which we stayed afterwrds. Had lunch over there. Got back home around 9:30 pm.
Thursday had grandkids all day as it was Spring Break. DH took them skating at arena in the afternoon and they fell asleep in the car on the way back.
Saturday was to go to funeral parlor to give our sympathies but as we were leaving we noticed water dripping in a few places in basement.. seems it was ice on the roof... so we had to get that dried up and called brothers (they are roofers and did the roof 2 years ago), so skipped the funeral parlor... and while I was waiting for dh to check out leaks in attic I was sitting in the car scrolling on my phone with car belt on... our garage driveway is on incline.. and the car started backing up (we had had a little freezing rain overnight).. scary! I threw my phone in the air, got out of the seat belt fast to climb over the console and into driver's seat to press on the break (hand-break was on but it still backed up slowly)... finally got the car stopped and then started it and put it in the street. Leaks stopped after dh got some snow off the roof. Went to get Subway's for supper and pick up some groceries.
Sunday was Xavier's hockey game and a few small things around the house but mostly have started binge-watching Orange is the new Black on Netflix.
Let's join Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom

Hi Luludou,
ReplyDeleteYou had a great week, and have you decided on a car? Yes, that gasoline thing. I think I'll walk a lot more now. That's possible here because everything is reachable in about half an hour or 45 minutes.
As for the weather here: it's consistently around 17 degrees Celsius.
Kind regards,
Still hesitating with the car... can't walk far around here and can't do errands on foot for sure. 17C? that is beautiful... still around 0C here.
DeleteHello dear Lucie!
ReplyDeleteOh my word - that car story sounds terrifying! Thankfully you had quick thinking and reflexes. It reminds me of when I was in college and drove a little manual transmission stick shift car. I would have to put on the emergency brake at a stoplight on the snowy steep hills up to my college. Then when light turned green quick take of emergency brake push in clutch and do gas all while trying not to slide back into the car behind me. Yikes! I sure don't miss those days.
Love your pic. I have a horrible cold right now and I'm living on cups of tea.
Blessings xoxo
ooh how I hated driving when the car backs up when on an incline! Hope you feel better soon
ReplyDeleteI have heard of the book Pachinko actually, it seems to be an interesting read. Oh my goodness, that car incident must have scared you half to death, good on you for quick thinking and glad you and the car were ok.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful blessed week and stay warm, I can't believe you're still dealing with snowy weather. Brrr.
