Christmas in July 2020!!! Coming up tomorrow

Welcome to Lucie's CIJ 2020!

Christmas from A to Z

Got the idea of the CIJ 2020 blogposts through some of my friends on Magical Holiday Home (Pamela and MissJoDee), it was on one of the CIJ 2019 threads on MHH.  I did not have time to answer the thread at the time but decided to work on it for my CIJ 2020 blogposts.  Lots of possibilities with A to Z

Enjoy CIJ 2020, starting tomorrow!

Happy Homemaker 2020-06-29

Good morning

Last week was not a good one:
- MIL went back to hospital with stomach ache... they said intestine occlusion and they had to operate immediately... she refused so she is now in palliative care.  At 1st they said a few days since she can't eat but now they are saying maybe 1 month.  I went to see her with the kids on Friday to say our last goodbyes... but now it seems we will have time to go back.  I went back with dh Sunday afternoon.
- Truck wouldn't start, had to send it to garage to check it out and change battery
- Water tank leaked on Thursday and had to be changed on Friday
- Still have bump in my throat that is hurting with earache
- Had to dress 'normally' to go to hospital... pffff... my pants don't fit anymore (of course with all that being sick since february and confinement have not exercised - used to go to the gym 3 times a week + some days at home).

*Edited to add:  my visa card was frauded this morning!!

Wednesday was our provincial holiday (St-Jean-Baptiste) and our 30th wedding anniversary... .that went down the drain fast when we heard mother in law was going fast.
Friday was my birthday... spent the morning at hospital.  My son, ddil and Xavier did come for supper and stayed the night.

Wednesday this week is Canada day, so no work for me but my husband's job is Friday... so we are not getting the same day off.

Let's join Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom .

Good morning

Friday night we babysat Xavier and he spent the night.  My husband's cousin and his girlfriend came to spend a few hours with us on the patio.
We spent the weekend with family.  Went to see my parents and brothers and sister (had not seen them since NY's except for sis), then mil (1st time we were allowed at her elderly facility since Covid-19), had lunch with my daughter on the way back and supper with my son for Father's day.

How I am feeling this morning
I'm ready to tackle the day.  Have a mile-long to-do list as we have been away all weekend.

Well my son's desk did NOT sell last week, the lady never showed up - wish she would have told me though.  Don't mind if they change their minds but making me stop the publication of the sale and making me wait all day and evening is not very respectful - don't know her but she lives here in our town! pffff not impressed.

Lots and lots to do

On my to-do list
  • Laundry
  • Bake muffins
  • Wash main bathroom
  • Vaccum main floor
  • Cut
  • Prep supper
  • Pay bills
  • Post here - DONE

  • Stretching - DONE (a leg from the outside chair I was sitting on broke this weekend and my shoulder and arm are stiff from when I fell with it)
  • Make bed, take shower, breakfast, brush teeth -
  • Work for a few hours in teletravail as I have things to submit before some people go on vacation Tuesday afternoon... of course this is work that arrived in my box at 3:45 on Friday afternoon.

How I am feeling this morning
Throat and righ ear are hurting ... will be so after 3 hours of taking the medication.  Have energy and finally seeing some stuff taken out of here is a good feeling.

On my mind
Mother-in-law was sent to the hospital last night... they have to figure out what is wrong and are waiting to know which hospital she was sent too... not easy to know anything with covid-19.

Lots of upcoming appointments... bloodwork appointments are hard to get with all that is deployed for Covid-19.
Need to make 2 more appointments for bloodwork in july and august (schedules are not out yet).   Also need a gynecologist appointment (unless at my appointment this morning doctor manages to get IUD out, but I don't think so), need to make 2nd shingles shot appointment also.

On the breakfast plate
1 date sqare and apple-nut muffins with a glass of almond milk and green tea

Looking around the house
All looks in order and have finally been able to put some time in the basement so it's starting to look better.  Hopefully the work desk in my son's bedroom will be sold this Wednesday and that'll make more space in the room.

On my to-do list
Done during the weekend
  • Dusted main floor (did it all on Friday before guests arrived)
  • Laundry
  • Baked muffins
  • Groceries
  • Washed main bathroom
  • Vaccumed main floor
  • Cut cantaloup
  • Made chocolate pudding
  • Prepped a spaghetti sauce in the crockpot
  • Finished washing gazebo
  • My husband finished painting the armoire, waiting for it to dry and fill it with my yarn.  Bought 2 bins to put it in... will need a few more!
  • Vaccumed basement
  • Washed basement bathroom
Monday
  • Make bed, take shower, breakfast, brush teeth -
  • Post here - DONE
  • Menu plan - in progress...
  • Call for bloodwork appointments in July and August
  • 10:00 Regular doctor's appointment in person as he wants to see me

Good morning

Let's see what happened last week.... télétravail.  Friday afternoon off for osteopathe appointment and picked up groceries.

Monday afternoon babysat my grandson.  He is starting to crawl now.

Ordered on a false online store... so instead of $25,61 got a $234,57 order (they added items to my cart), but meanwhile my daughter had texted me about the site and was in contact with credit card company... so supposedly they did one transaction of $120,42.. probably were going to make many small ones.
So we'll see have to wait 15 days to contest but I don't have proof... however he said I will probably win... but win what? they don't exist... pfff... lesson learned.  If you want to know the company is TEVIALET... do NOT BUY from them.  they were a copycat from a legit site I had ordered from the week before.  That sure messed up my Saturday!  Just when I was starting to take charge concerning my old-time passwords on site and thinking of ordering a credit card just for online ordering.... grrrr...  2 nights of having a hard time sleeping just thinking of this... it makes me sooooo mad.

Saturday afternoon Xavier came by for a visit with his dad and he stayed the night.  They left Sunday around 4:30.

How I am feeling this morning
Had stomache aches during the 1st half ot the night then it went away by itself.  Did some outside work this weekend so all my right side is sore and of course my throat is still hurting a bit...

On my mind
The stupid online scam.
Seeing the endocronologist tomorrow for my throat, they will call today if I go in or if it's by phone.
Things I have been procrastinating about need to get done (passwords, a credit card just for online shopping, order a new cell phone....)
My long to-do list.

On the breakfast plate
Prune juice, green tea, and probably 2 toasts

On my reading pile

Happy Homemaker 2020-06-01

Good morning on this 1st day of June 2020.

Still having problems with my throat and coughing seems to be coming back a little, hoping it's just a temporary set back.
Had bloodwork done last friday morning.  Friday night went to the dollarstore for the 1st time since March... we were only 3 customers but they were missing lots of things, only got half of what was on my list.
Saturday morning we went to town to by a patio umbrella and stopped by another grocery store... I'm starting to go out more (with my mask)!
Got home at noon and my daughter arrived a few minutes after us.  Son, daughter-in-law and Xavier arrived around 3:30, just in time for my husband's birthday supper (his birthday was Sunday).  We ate and spent the evening in the gazebo, played a game of Toc and all went to bed around 11:00.  They all slept over.
Sunday son and family left around 10:30 and my daughter left after lunch.  Did some housechores and picked up pizza for supper.

On my mind
Feeling a bit 'off' with all that is going on... wondering how things will work out with this pandemia.. uncertainty is hard to deal with.
Think I need to establish new routines, might help with the 'unsettled' feelings.
