Happy Homemaker 2019-02-25

Happy Rudolph day!  The 25th of the month... let's try to do a few things Christmassy today...

It's a snow day here so a Christmas movie and hot chocolate seems the best way to go!

It was another busy week.  My dad's eye seems to be coming back to normal.  We will be going next Saturday to visit them for the weekend (3 hours from here).  We will pick up my daughter on the way so she can come with us.

Sunday we had another foot of snow and it's still snowing a little this morning.  Here we are lucky there is space to put the snow but in town the houses are covered with snow... people can't see outside their front windows.

Happy Homemaker 2019-02-18

We had a snow week.  Big snowstorm on Wednesday but still went in to work, never should've done that, last time I do.  Start at 7:30 but they decided to close the office at 8:30.  Everybody gets paid for the day whether they work or not.  I had gone to work with my husband (who's job did not close), so had to stay there until 4:30.  Decided I might as well work in the morning... usually arrangements can be made with bosses for to take back the hours you worked.  Seems everyone I know who worked anyways or who worked long-distance gets to get their hours back.  Except me!  My boss refused.  Guess he didn't have to but it would have been nice.  Good thing I did not work in the afternoon after he told me whatever time I do is 'volunteer' work.  And he told me this while laughing.  pffff! so not impressed with that boss since his arrival.

Then more snowstorm on Friday.  We had almost 3 feet in all the week.  My desk was moved again and then they told me I might be moving again... they can't seem to decide where to put me... they say they need me both places, either that or they don't know where to dump me.

On the home front we had ceramic guys here this weekend for the bathroom.  They came saturday and then sunday they had to remove a tile on the shower wall :(  It still looks nice once finished though.

We babysat my son's dog on Saturday night too.  He even slept on our bed until they picked them up.

My dad's eye seems to be ok, he is seeing an opthalmologist this week but he was seen almost everyday last week and a scan was done.  On the other hand with the scan they discovered he has artery that is 80% blocked, so he will see another doctor for that.

On with this weeks Happy Homemaker series

Happy homemaker 2019-02-11

Linking up to Sandra at Diary of a Stay at home mom

Been a super busy week at work but all went well.  Busy at home too with dh working on the bathroom remodel too.
Saturday my husband went to help my son get the snow off his roof and we were invited for supper with them.
Sunday we worked around the house and my son, his girlfriend and Zac-the-dog came to spend the afternoon with us (my son had a hockey game but the other 2 stayed here).  We ordered pizza for supper, I know, I know one day late for National Pizza day ;)  They left around 7:00.
Computer is really not working well, it keeps shutting off, missing the time to go shop for one now that I've got the boys at the office telling me which one to buy.
Last Friday my dad was working on the garage door and a spring hit his eye.  he was lucky to have his glasses on or he would've lost his eye.  As it is they weren't sure at first (he couldn't see) but seems he will be ok (blood in the eye).  He had to have a few stitches done above the eye too.  Doctor has been checking up on him every day since then and he will have a scan scheduled too.   Hoping all keeps going well.

Happy Homemaker 2019-02-04

Linking up to Sandra at Diary of a Stay at home mom

It was another week of COLD and snow.
Friday evening I was sick to my stomach (my Crohn's disease I think) and I also think I had a stone in my urinary tract.  Took some medication and felt better when I went to bed.
My daughter came to spend the weekend with us.  Saturday night we had a fondue supper with my daughter, my son and his girlfriend.
I made some spaghetti sauce on Saturday and froze some cooked ground beef.  Then I helped my daughter prep her filling for her 4 mexican pies and 4 salmon pies.  My husband was the one who rolled the dough.   I made my daughter a scarf over the weekend too and we managed to declutter some of the remaining stuff in her bedroom.
Sunday was vaccum main floor, laundry, working on the puzzle.
Did  not sleep well last night, hot flashes - yuck!  My thumbs are hurting this morning (too much crocheting) so will have to wear my thumb orthesis (has been a very long time since I used it).
