Happy Homemaker 2020-12-28

Good morning!

Christmas was very different this year.

Govt regulations said just those who live at the address and we could have my daughter come as she is single.  However we have been seing my son, daughter-in-law and grandson so we saw them too. My son invited us for Christmas Eve supper - he made turkey with all the trimmings, very good.  Santa (my husband) delivered gifts for my grandson, he is not as scared of Santa as he was the 1st time he saw him at daycare.

We had a Facetime meeting with family members but was hard to hear each other.

Christmas day was a slow relaxing day... with LOTS and LOTS of rain.  My daughter left just before supper so it was just the 2 of us .  We had a tourtière ordered for 15 people (will freeze the rest), so will give some to my son and we delivered portions to my husband's sisters.

My grandson spent alot of time here with us during our vacation.

Good morning!

I am now on vacation for 2 weeks - but let's be real with teletravail I will have to work a few hours here and there, in fact did half an hour on Sunday.

Baby boy came for supper Friday night and stayed the night.  His parents came by for lunch on Saturday and left after supper.  We did see the town fireworks around 5:00 pm.

Sunday was mostly picking up and relaxing.

Happy Monday

Last weekend we decided to go see my parents.  It is against the recommendations of the govt but we have not seen them since August and with mom's beginning of Alzheimer I NEEDED to see them.  I also got to see my brothers, my sister, brother-in-law and 3 nieces and nephew.  Did not see the sister-in-laws though, and only briefly the children.  I gave out all their birthday and Christmas gifts... which they did open.  Anyhow they have alot at the same time so this way they get to extend the fun.  Slept at my parent's house and left after lunch.  we will not be seeing them until the govt says it's ok once again.

Was sad on my way back thinking of my parents, it is not a good period.  They have always been joined at the hip, so to speak, never one word higher than the other, mom always sitting on dad, always together.  Now mom feels like everyone is judging what she does and telling her what to do so she gets angry (she was never one to be temperamental) and dad is not as patient as he has always been.  very very sad to see it work out this way.

Went to my son's hous for supper on Sunday night and to see our grandson - wanted to wait a few days to be sure but ...

Happy Homemaker 2020-12-07

Good morning everyone!

I am finished with the Holiday preparations for this year.  Since we are not hosting, no food to cook.  Gifts are wrapped and cards mailed.  I was finished with gifts and then the govt cancelled our Christmas (NY's was already cancelled), so what the heck decided to order everyone another gift.  Only 1 has not arrived yet.  They are being wrapped as they come in.

Last weekend we celebrated Xavier's bday.  He is so adorable.  He slept here on Saturday night.  My daughter was also here for the weekend.

My husband worked the major part of the day Sunday so that when the kids left I started the housechores.

Let's join Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom .

On my mind
Our numbers have been going up so all Holiday celebration and reunions have been cancelled.  Should be only the members of the household (same adress) only.  We will still be seeing my son's family as they are at home  (telework for my son and maternity prevention leave for my daughter-in-law) and do not see anyone.  Since my daughter is alone we will see her too.
Wondering when I can see my parents.  we just might go before Christmas to drop off gifts even though it is a 6-hour round trip.

On the breakfast plate
