Happy Homemaker 2019-04-29

Snow is mostly gone (one small patch in the back).

Was a quiet week with my husband in Montreal for work 2 nights (left Wednesday afternoon and came back Friday afternoon).  
Had 2 lunches out this week (1 with coworkers and 1 with ex-lady boss).

Okay so now that all the family has been notified I can post it here... I will be a grandma in December!  Learned about it 2 weeks ago (the reason why we went to dd's one afternoon to tell her before she learned about it on the social medias).  My son will be a dad in December and I'm sure he'll make a good one.

I deep spring-cleaned my bedroom armoire and drawers, 2 entryway closets, food closet.  Paid bills.  Baked muffins.  Vacuumed main floor.  Did ironing.  Washed some boots and put them away.  Put winter coats away.  Started putting away some winter clothes.
Planted a few spring bulbs.  Did more decluttering.

Snow is finally melting.  we still have some, but much less.  I don't think we will have any by the end of the week.  
We went to my parent's house for Easter.  Dad made a pork mechoui with homemade french fries (35 lbs of potatoes were peeled), with lots of salads and chocolate fountain and fruits for dessert.  We were 52.  Luckily it was nice outside.
DH will be out of town from wednesday night and back by Friday.  I will go in to work with my son (have sublet my parking space).

Happy Homemaker 2019-04-15

Good morning!

Rain, rain, rain.  Luckily we are above the freezing point as the forecast was for another snowstorm!  Lots of wind too.  Perfect day to stay inside and do stuff.  But rivers are under flood warning.
I've started my springcleaning a few weeks back and continuing with that.
I took last Tuesday off from work and got lots done.
With the upcoming Easter holidays we get a 4-day weekend, so that's good.
We babysat the dog on Saturday night too.  My son and his girlfriend came by on Friday night and also spent the afternoon here on Saturday.
Sunday we went for a quick visit to my daughters and we brought her her bday gift.  She might not make it to go with us next week to my parent's house for Easter as she has lots of studying to do.

On my to-do list 
Over the weekend I baked muffins, prepped overnight oats, spring-deep-cleaned my bedroom: walls-woodwork-furniture-light fixture-inside windows-blinds.  Last Tuesday I did the same in the LR (couches still need to be done).  Emptied bathroom cabinets as we sold them and they will be picked up this week.  Laundry, air curtains and wouldn't you know it the clothesline broke and it all fell in the snow-mud-water... had to rewash everything.  I vaccumed all main floor too.

Good morning!

A snow day here (or so they say as nothing has started yet).  Should be a snowstorm here today.  I prefer that to freezing rain but we could skip this snowstorm.  Patio FINALLY has no more snow on it - my husband finished clearing it up yesterday.
My daughter was here for the weekend and Friday night we had a family supper for my son's 26th birthday.  His choice was hamburgers :)

Over the weekend I baked muffins, washed all ceilings on main floor, spring-deep-cleaned kitchen: walls-woodwork-furniture-light fixture.  Washed windows outside of door (kitchen), patio door (inside-out), kitchenette (inside-out) and basement bedrooms (where there is no snow!) and did laundry of course.

Happy Homemaker 2019-04-01

Happy April Fool's day!

It was a busy weekend.  We had 2 funeral parlors to go to on Saturday (dh's aunt and bil's brother-in-law).  
Sunday was family brunch on my husband's side for my nephew's birthday (Antoine).  It was very good.  we got there at 10:45 and left at 5:15.   We got home tired so we had soup and bread around 6:30 and my other sil & bil came by to have supper with us and watch the Sunday night edition of our local The Voice.
DD is back from her cruise and says she had a good time.  She might be coming over next weekend for my son's birthday.
DH managed to get the front windows of the shower installed (waiting for the handle to be delivered this week - the one with the window doors was broken)
We had more snow on saturday but it has melted.
